As an increasing number of our customers are travelling with their smartphones, we would like to bring your attention to an application that could make your business travel easier. No longer do you have to sift through a stack of paperwork looking for dates, times and reservation details, you can manage it all on your smartphone or iPad. Functioning like a mobile itinerary, applications such as Google's free app Tripit allow you to track all your travel bookings, create a digital itinerary and automatically update all the information to your calendar. The apps can integrate flight, hotel and car rental information with your work schedule and detect when there could be a reservation missing. It can even alert you if your flight has changed and allow you to book an alternate one on the go. Acting as your personal travel agent, these programs can provide you all the real-time information you need about your destination including weather, a world clock and currency. You can even access restaurant reviews that are relevant to your stay.

SJHL President Bill Chow is proud to announce a new 10 year partnership with Canalta Hotels. The agreement includes renaming the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Championship Trophy to the Canalta Cup. This landmark agreement between Canalta and the SJHL will also see the hotel chain contribute more than $600,000 in partnership revenue to the League over the next 10 years. “Canalta’s partnership with the SJHL shows their commitment to supporting long-standing Saskatchewan traditions,” said Bill Chow, SJHL President. “We are excited to have them join our SJHL corporate family.” Canalta Hotels, established in 1979, currently has six hotels in five Saskatchewan markets, Weyburn, Moosomin, Tisdale, Humboldt and Melfort. The family owned business is also in the construction phase of properties in Esterhazy and Shaunavon. “It is an honour to have our company name on one of the most respected and cherished championship trophies in hockey,” said Gary Hoffert, Regional Vice President of Canalta Hotels. “This unique agreement helps promote our hotel properties in the Saskatchewan marketplace.” The battle for the Canalta Cup will begin when the SJHL playoffs start at the end of February.
